It Takes The Right Mindset
A common problem that many real estate agents face today is their thinking.
Due to the tough economy right now, people are fixating on everything that is bad.
They are continuously thinking and worrying.
Complaining and fearing.
After all, we live in a society bent on highlighting what is wrong with just about everything.
There are legitimate problems being faced by many, and we don’t want to make fun of that, but constantly thinking about how bad things are, or worrying about where your next deal is going to come from, does not fix a problem.
All that allows you to do is to become an expert at the problems.
You need to think in terms of solutions.
As I look around at the incredible success that our very own Inner Circle members are having, I see a common theme which is that they think differently than most real estate agents.
Successful agents, and those who are bent on success, truly DESIRE a better future — not just for themselves, but for their family, their customers and the world around them.
So if you desire a future that is a lot better than your present, you will need to change a lot about the way you think.
You have probably heard and read before that, whatever you give your attention to, expands in your experience.
I have found this to be true in my own career.
If you can come to grips with the fact that there will always be some junk in life, and there will also always be some greatness, you can set yourself on a path toward choosing to focus only on those things which are great and lead to success.
I learned early in my real estate career from Dan Kennedy that if you want to be super successful, you must do what super successful people do.
My Inner Circle members seem to follow this advice to the letter and included in that is the fact that they think the way successful people think.
Obviously, we are not mind readers, and you can’t know the exact thoughts of others, but by hanging out with these mega successful agents, I see how they are always at peace, have a confidence about them, always wanting to improve, always wanting to provide better service and truly achieve a more fulfilled life.
In order to accomplish this, they think on these things each and every day.
The 5 Questions You Should Be Asking Yourself Daily
Here are some helpful questions you can ask yourself that will extract a positive response and get you thinking like a successful agent:
- What are five things I am thankful for right now?
- What are five of my strengths?
- What are five of my best achievements so far?
- Who are the five most successful agents I know and what are they doing in their business that I can do too?
- What are five things I am looking forward to in the next 30 days?
Answer these questions and keep the answers on a piece of paper on your desk in plain sight.
When you find yourself becoming distracted by social media, a negative seller or buyer, or the natural stress or pressure to perform – reflect back on these answers.
This will be a great place to start.
