What is Real Success in Real Estate?
Everyone is obsessed with success.
Everybody wants to appear and feel successful. Who wouldn't, right?
There are many ways to measure success. Some measure it with money and some even measure it with awards and certificates.
But there have been cases when realtors even go out of business after receiving their well sought after award.
But what is the real definition of success in Real Estate?
What is real success as a realtor?
Obviously a common definition of success is your INCOME.
That means you earn so much money that you're able to cover all your expenses with having much more left.
With different lifestyles, you are able to support your ideal lifestyle, may it be to retire early, spend more time with your family or even travel a lot!
The key here is whatever your income may be, you must feel REWARDED.
The second definition is RESPECT.
This is even bigger than income.
If you'e not respected in the industry, it doesn't matter how much you do or how long you stay, you will burn out really fast with the lack of fulfillment that comes from the the lack of respect.
Prospects and even fellow agents must respect you enough to be able to approach you for advice and have your advice taken seriously.
THEY LISTEN TO YOU.
It doesn't matter how long you've been a realtor, if people around you don't respect you and your advice falls into deaf ears, you are far from successful.
Another way to measure success is through TIME.
We've all known different agents who work 90, even 100, hour work weeks.
That is obviously outside the normal work week.
40 hours - 8 hours a day - 5 days a week. This is definitely enough for you to pursue other interests besides Real Estate.
Remember, Real Estate is not your life!
Go get a hobby! spend your time doing what you want to do. Don;t waste your time working yourself to death.
One more way to measure success is through CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We've been talking about this and I couldn't emphasize enough how important customer service is.
Being able to provide great customer service isn't only good for present prospects, but they are an amazing investment to your business.
Customers keep coming back and even refer you to more and more customers.
Being able to exceed expectations is astonishing and this will greatly contribute to your success.
There are so many ways to look at success, but in Real Estate, This is what success looks like.
